Stanley Rule & Level Co. No. 41 Combination Plane
An earlier (1880) pre-slitter model of the Miller's Patent Plow, Filletster and Matching Plane with all of its Victorian styling. It has eight of the original nine cutters and the filletster cutter. Stanley Rule & Level Co. No. 1 Plane
The J trademark on the cutter and the L. Bailey 1867 mark on the chip breaker dates this one to the 1880s. This is the smallest size bench plane, at 5 3/8 inches, made by Stanley, and sought by collectors. They are uncommon at best, and the early ones are quite rare, especially in this very nice original, uncleaned condition. 95% japanning remains. Weston's Side-Handle Belt Plane
Early industry was run by water- and steam-power. Factories had a series of shafts and pulleys connected to the power source, running along the ceiling. Wide leather belting was used to transfer the motion from the ceiling to the machines on the floor. These planes were used to cut a wide bevel joint on each side of the belt so they could be sewn together and lie flat. This plane is in nice condition. Chaplin's Patent Smooth Plane
Tower & Lyon Co., Chaplin's Improved smooth plane is 8 1/2 inches long, including the handle overhang. Earlier style with the scalloped edges on the sides of the body. The cutter seems to be unmarked. Checkered hard rubber handle is very crisp and ebonized knob.Most of the japanning remains. It's a bit thin and has some dust. L. Bailey's No. 14 Victor Combination Plane
L. Bailey's Patent July 6, 1875 stamped on the fence. Leonard Bailey is probably the best-known American plane manufacturer. He designed the line of planes that were then made by the Stanley Rule & Level Co. This delicate combination plane is usually found with a broken or missing depth stop or fence. Siegley Patent Plow Plane
Although Siegley Patent Plow Planes are rather common, this is one of the very few that have an earlier, and rare all-metal fence with a micro-dial adjustment.
