notice: I just aquired a Delta/Milwaukee drill press. I need to replace the motor. Also the belt needs replacing. It was retro-fitted with an ond washing machine motor, the drive pulley was really crooked, so I tried to straighten it. The center broke out. I am a certified TIG welder, so it was no problem. I think this press is not too old to fix up. I found this site trying to locate a new motor and belt, or the manufacturer. Any help out there? I can help you if any TIG welding is needed on non-ferrous metals. I can do stainless too, but am best with aluminum. Pot metal can be almost impossible. I don't charge much, I know I ain't going to get rich doing it.

notice: write notice here Seeking information on " JOS.A.COLLADAY AND SONS PHILADA" Which is the only marking on a 36 inch bandsaw that I am restoring. Except for it's brandname and a butcherblock cutting table( my saw has a cast iron table), the band saw at the Smithsonion Museum's 1886 exhibit is a twin for my saw. The wheels are wrought iron spokes with wooden rims, the bearing materiel is babbit, and the drive shaft is long enough that there is no question about the leather belt. I will pay cash money for catologues if you are willing to part with them, but what I really want to do is date my saw, and see what it looked like new, so any info or tips would be welcome.

notice: In the late 60's, as a carpenter apprentice I aquired a set of wooden handled Eskilstuna bevel edged wood chisels. Others in the shop where I apprenticed had plastic handled versions of the same. Over the years the set gradually disappeared. Now that I have a renewed interest in woodworking, I thought I might purchase a new set of these chisels. It appears they are no longer available. Can anyone tell me what became of the company. notice: NOTICE: Just bought an unusual hammer at a flea market. From the hammer head (approx. 1 1/2 inch in diameter)the casting pulls in and then spreads elegantly to a wider flange (approx. 2 inches in diameter) just above the hole for the handle. A second striker(approx. 3/4 inch diameter) sits on top of the flange. A raised logo in the shape of an "Ace of Diamonds" card is on the front of the hammer. A raised cast Patent Number is on the back head, but the numbers are difficult to read although there are apparently 7 digits starting with 1 which would indicate a date around 1912 or later. The handle and head have great evidence of use and patina. Any information regarding the manufacturer, use and value of this piece would be appreciated.
