This was made around 1920. 4 screw apple wood handle has the early wheat carving. The handle has dry finish, an owner's initial and some scuffs. Some stain and minor pitting won't affect use. There is a slight bend in the blade, about 1/32nd over three inches. It should be a minor repair, G+ .......... $95.00

- PIKE PERFECT SAW JOINTER, Levels the teeth on rip and crosscut handsaws before sharpening. Pat d Oct. 24, 1893 cast in the frame. It's spring-loaded to hold tightly to the saw to "joint the teeth absolutely true". Very respected manufacturer in New Hampshire. 85% black enamel remains. The screws holding the adjustable side of the bottom were missing, and I replaced them. They are frequently gone, The spring keeps it in place and maybe it works better without them, G+ ........... $40.00

- W. E. GIBBS, SAW JOINTER, This is the one they are looking for .... The shoes are adjustable to follow the curve of the saw teeth while sharpening crosscut saws. Mar 24, 1914 and Pat. Pend. patent dates cast in the frame. This early one has two brass thumb nuts to adjust the shoe height. This is in very crisp condition. 18 inches long overall, Fine ........... Sold $195.00

- DISSTON NO. 10 IMPERIAL CROSS-CUT SAW TOOL. Don't overlook this one. This is probably the best crosscut saw sharpening set around.
Complete with the Disston raker gauge, that has a pin gauge - that can be set to gauge the height of the rakers; setting stake with a wrest on the end; a Keystone-shaped spider (to me, that's almost worth the money), and wrench. The two outside thumb-screws on the top will clamp the file in a curve to conform to the curve of the saw blade for jointing. In the original box with the original instructions, that include plans for a cross-cut saw vise, Fine ........... $125.00

- DISSTON NO. 10 IMPERIAL SAW TOOL, An early one with the Nov 7, 1916 patent date cast in the frame. Includes everything you need for sharpening crosscut saws: Has a six-sided graduated gauge - a pin gauge- that can be turned to gauge the depth of the rakers. The face marked (1) makes rakers 1/125th inch shorter than the cutting teeth; (2), 1/64th; (3), 1/50th; (4), 1/40th; (5), 1/35th;, and (6), 1/32nd. This feature is available only on the earlier models.
Complete with the setting stake with a wrest on the end, and a spider. The two outside thumb-screws on the top will clamp the file in a curve to conform to the curve of the saw blade for jointing.
